Join us this Wednesday, October 2, 2024, for the #JumuikaSikika Mtaani dialogue forum, Awamu ya Nyanza, where we will examine the state of human rights, climate change actions, and service delivery in Siaya County.

This event, organized with ForumCiv Eastern & Southern Africa, Talanta Africa, @ActioNetwork, and @SitarushaMaweTena, aims to facilitate discussions between rights holders and duty bearers.

Together, we will explore civic participation and human rights issues in the Lake Basin region.

Our expected outcomes include informed dialogue, enhanced collaboration, and actionable recommendations for promoting rights and service delivery.

#FoundersMonth

"You are the very very best of widows’ advocates. With such courage and creative thinking you broke down the heavy walls of silence, you exposed the evils of extreme abuse, discrimination, demonisation of widows and of Violence in all its different manifestations endured by them. But you did more. You ensured this challenging gender and human rights was prioritised on politicians’ agenda. Well done . You inspire people all over the world - bravo, am so proud to know you", wrote Margaret Owen.

Margaret Owen is the founder and director of Widows for Peace through Democracy - WPD, a UK based charity that remains our advocacy ally and partner.

WPD is our rock, advocacy companion and a sounding board to our founder, Roseline Orwa.

#OurEfforts

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

At Rona, we know building a climate-resilient ecosystem requires a cross-generational approach to ensure sustainability.

Our widows, against all odds, continue to instill a sense of collective responsibility among younger generations, teaching them the importance of planting trees to increase forest cover.

So, like ForumCiv Eastern & Southern Africa, we invite you to join us in this efforts and support our mission.
