Joseph Elimlim a court administrator , a male champion from Alego Subcounty and representatives from legal offices in Siaya County highlight on the importance of the enactment of the Widows Protection bill in advancing the rights of widows; property rights and abolishment of harmful norms like wife inheritance and also acknowledge the role and contribution of Rona Foundation in achieving the same.

He highlights the importance of the bill ;Widows enjoying equality, elimination of harmful cultural practices to widows and establishment of a Ward Welfare Committee that provides care and psychological support .The legislators present (MCAs) also gave their contributions on areas of adjustment on the bill.
