Rona Foundation – County Chapters

Rona launches county chapters and widow groups in partnership with elected, community, church leaders & individuals.
Giving the opportunity to rally together and mentor widows country-wide. It is our replication model.

Rona was registered in 2013. Our dreams of reviving communities with widows as change makers began this way, with one humble step, one night through an online meeting. Since then, we have continued to expand towards our ultimate goal, and empowered widows in 12 counties in Kenya. We understand, educate, mentor and care deeply for each other. Because we are the change.  We see you as heroes and love warriors.

Chapters launched with active widow groups are Nairobi, Siaya, Vihiga, Kisii, Kisumu, Homabay, Mombasa-Kisauni, Embu, Nyandarua, Migori, Nyamira, West Pokot.

Where we meet:

Homesteads, schools, Chiefs Camp, and faith-based facilities. Venues that are free of charge, private and welcoming with friendly and trustworthy ambiance. A new group may form if outside 5km radius.  Rural villages may form several widow groups.

When we meet:

Widow leaders plan own meetings with their group. They vary from group to group with an emphasis on each groups availability and constitution. A minimum of once a month. Groups commit to the same location and same time for one calendar year. This consistency has proven to reduce anxiety for our community.

We partner with:

Government Agencies, CBOs organizations, Community Leaders, faith-based organizations, NGOs organizations, Group Patrons, health- based organizations, financial advisors and education-based organizations. We want our widows to have access to resources they need from each community. Ask our Widow Leaders to come speak at your next gathering about women’s issues!
